The Operations Manager will be responsible for the Management of all Operations (Projects/Production/Plant & Equipment. Project Planning)
The Operations Manager will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Direct Reports-Project Managers/Production Manager/Planner/Plant & Equipment Superintendent
Internal: Commercial Manager, HR Manager, QHSE Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Director Finance & Admin, & all supporting staff in the organization
1.Management
-Management of Plant and Equipment Department via the Plant and Equipment Superintendent.
-Management of multiple Construction Projects ($0.5m to $20m) via Project Managers.
-Management of Structural steel production workshop via the Production Manager.
o Receive debrief and hand over from the Proposals Department.
o Assist with the generation of the Project Cost Control Sheet
o Establish the following documents: -
? Project Execution Plan
? Baseline Schedule
? IMS Plan (or Quality and HSE Plans depending on client requirements);
o Advise the HR Department of key personnel requirements and follow up with HR Requisitions.
o Set-up site establishment.
o Establish weekly and monthly reports.
o Ensure that the project team and all subcontractors fully comply with the requirements of the IMS Plan (or Quality and HSE Plans depending on client requirements);
o Maintain and analyze the Cost Control Sheet
o Generate and submit valuations and sales invoices to the client.
o Ensure that payment is received in a timely manner for all work completed.
o Ensure that change management procedures are implemented and followed.
o Coordinate and direct commercial matters in order to maximize profit on the project.
o Prepare and issue weekly and monthly reports to the client and regional management.
o Communicate demobilization of the project team, as necessary, to facilitate possible reassignment.
o Issue completion/handover certificates.
o Issue formal notice of commencement of warranty period.
o Prepare and submit final account.
o Claim retention.
o Issue final package of drawings and documentation to the client.
o Hold project debrief meetings with project team and client.
o Provide supplier/subcontractor appraisal.
o Complete project completion checklist.

-All costs kept within budget.
-Assisting Proposals Dept in preparation of estimates
-Assisting Chief Financial Officer -providing input into annual budget.
-Assisting Commercia Manager in preparing commercial claims/variations.
Minimum of 15 years' experience at a Senior level(Operations Manager/Snr Project Manager/Production Manager) in the Mining Industry managing Construction Projects.
Good excel skills.
Knowledge of MS Project would be an added advantage.
Good Commercial skills
Ability to focus on detail and deadlines.
Ability to multi task
English language fluency
Diploma in Engineering
Minimum of 15 years' experience at a Senior level(Operations Manager/Snr Project Manager/Production Manager) in the Mining Industry managing Construction Projects.
Good excel skills.
Knowledge of MS Project would be an added advantage.
Good Commercial skills
Ability to focus on detail and deadlines.
Ability to multi task

Educational & Professional Qualification:
